Glen Ellyn Pack 51 Cub Scouts

Welcome

CALLING ALL FOREST GLEN BOYS AND GIRLS!

Cub Scout Pack 51’s mission is to encourage all boys and girls to make friends, be helpful to others, and do their very best, no matter the outcome. With the help of powerful learning projects and exciting outdoor activities, we aim to teach children that doing their best can be a fun and rewarding experience—no matter the difficulty of the challenge.

Pack-Wide Event Dates for 2025/2026

*Note that each Den (grade) creates and manages its events throughout the year. Contact your Den Leader to learn more and volunteer to help.

Build & Fish
Thursday, 9/4/2025, 5:30 PM
@ Lake Ellyn

This is our first event every year. The kids will make their fishing pole, learn to tie a knot for the hook, and use corn to catch fish at Lake Ellyn. This is an excellent opportunity for new families interested in Scouting to ask questions.

Family Camping
Saturday, 9/13/2025, 2:00 PM
@ Greene Valley #1

Family Camping at Greene Valley Forest Preserve is the ideal place for kids who have never camped. With a big group to run and play, the kids have a blast. We cook and eat dinner as a pack, doing a flag retirement ceremony, the kids do skits, and then we sleep overnight in tents.

Food Drive
Thursday, 10/16/2025, 6:30 PM
@Forest Glen

Last year, we gathered almost 1,000 lbs of food for the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry. Bags are dropped off around the homes surrounding Forest Glen. Then on Thursday, the kids get to go collect the bags for delivery at the food pantry—great night of running around with flashlights and doing some good in the community.

Pinewood Derby
Check-In Thursday, 11/20/2025, 6:00 PM
Races, Friday, 11/21/2025, 6:00 PM
@ First Congregational Church of Glen Ellyn

One of the most anticipated nights of the year. The kids get to race cars they make themselves. Prizes for speed and design, but mostly just a good time cheering the kids on and celebrating their creations.

Holiday Bowling
Sunday, 12/7/2025, 4:00 PM
@Fox Bowl

Who doesn’t like to bowl? This is a fun Sunday activity for the kids to let loose at Fox Bowl, eat some pizza, and get some energy out.

Movie Night & Skits
Friday, 1/16/2026, 7:00 PM
@ FCCGE

A fun night in Pilgrim Hall watching a movie and performing skits to build confidence and learn to speak in front of a larger room.

Blue & Gold
Friday, 2/6/2026, 6:30 PM @ FCCGE

The Blue and Gold Dinner is our pack’s annual celebration of Scouting’s birthday. Families come together for food, fun, and fellowship while we recognize our Cub Scouts’ achievements, honor leaders, and celebrate the traditions of Scouting. A highlight of the evening is the Arrow of Light crossover, where our oldest Scouts move up to Scouts BSA troops. It’s a special night to reflect on the past year, share in the spirit of Scouting, and look forward to new adventures ahead.

Chicago Wolves
Sunday, 3/8/2026, 3:00 PM
@ Allstate Arena

New this year, we’ll be planning an afternoon at Allstate Arena cheering on the Chicago Wolves Hockey team.

Raingutter Regatta & Cookout
Friday, 4/10/2025, 6:00 PM
@ TBD

New this year, the kids will build and design their very own sailboats. We’ll fill some gutters with water, get the fans fired up, and see whose boat goes the fastest.

Rockets
Sunday, 5/17/2026, 3:00 PM
@Maryknoll

Another change for the kids to build and see their hard work pay off. Rockets launch hundreds (?) of feet into the air, then “slowly” fall to the ground.
